What should you wear for a small wedding?

Aug 26, 2020 | Blog

Small weddings don’t have to cramp your style.

More couples are now taking the step to have an intimate wedding even during this time. It may be a small gathering, but it doesn’t mean that you should not think too much about what to wear on this special day.

One of your options is to get a fashion stylist. They will guide you through some choices that will set and complement your look during the wedding. There are many talented fashion stylists right now you can work with if you’re finding a difficult time to make a decision on what to wear for your special day. With the threat of COVID-19 continuing to linger among us, the IATF encourages everyone to wear a face mask as the minimal health standard, even for your wedding. Don’t worry too much about it, because there are face masks now that are fashioned especially for weddings to match your look.

As a safety precaution, prepare a box of face masks at the entrance of your wedding venue and other key areas. This will also keep everyone reminded to wear one.

In general, brides are expected to wear something white. There may be non-conventional ladies out there who may opt to wear their dress in other colors, and that’s fine. The bottom line is that you can still wear your dream wedding dress even for a smaller wedding than you originally planned.

Just like the bride, grooms are also expected to look their best at their wedding. Be at your most dapper look with a fitted suit to match your blushing bride. Make sure to choose comfortable pieces, in case you choose a smaller venue so you wouldn’t spend the day looking flushed.

Out of courtesy, choose an attire that matches the overall mood and feel of the wedding. Dress conservatively, especially if it’s a church wedding. Choose a comfortable attire that you can move freely to and would not leave you in a pool of sweat at the end of the day. Don’t forget your face masks too.

Dress accordingly for your task on the day. If handling food, make sure to equip yourself with a face shield and hand gloves to avoid contamination. Photographers/videographers should also wear a face mask, as well as the bride’s hair and makeup team.

Overall, you can treat a small wedding just like any other weddings but with a smaller venue, less guests and a higher priority for everyone’s safety. All that aside, make everything else as beautiful and unforgettable with memories and sights you can keep with you as you start your journey as newlyweds.
